Senior Chorus

Senior Chorus spreads Holiday Cheer at the Winter Concert, Newark Valley High School, December 10th, 2012.

The Newark Valley High School Winter Concerts took place on Thursday, December 6th and Monday, December 10th at 7:00 pm. Those attending in the Jewel Griffith Auditorium where treated to a variety of group performances.

Thursday night featured performances by the Select Choir, the Women’s Choir, the Jazz Band, the Intermediate Chorus, the Women’s Octet and the Concert Band. The music continued on Monday night with the Senior Chorus, the Jazz Ensemble, another appearance by the Select Choir, the debut of NV², and the return of the Women’s Octet.

The Symphonic Band rounded out a night of great music. Maureen Preston directed the bands, Victoria Vibbert lead the choruses and Jewel Griffith sat in as accompanist.

NVHS Music Highlights

Many Newark Valley High School music students have made a commitment to attend the Music Department’s spring trip to Dorney Park on Saturday, May 18th, 2013.

Students will travel to the park in Allentown, PA to show off their talents and compete with groups from other states. This is through the Music in the Parks program, designed to create a positive learning venue, inspiring music students to strive for excellence and incorporate music as a lifelong activity.

NVHS students have joined in an effort to raise funds to cover costs for the trip. Please help support their efforts through their fundraisers and musical events throughout the year.
